Below is a gallery of photos taken along the drive from North East OH to Rochester, NY.  I’m always amazed how similar the locations along the route look to each other when the leaves are off the trees and there’s no weather variety.  Dad was having hernia surgery and Mom was in the hospital with pneumonia, so it was a two-for-one kind of visit.  Mom’s out of the hospital and at rehab, and Dad’s surgery went well.

I took a couple of pictures in Seneca Territory.  The kids get excited when we drive through the Seneca Nation– and my brother and I got excited for the same reasons when we were kids, too.  For one, there’s the cool Seneca Indian statue which has stood by the road for ages.  For another, there’s the idea that we’re driving through another nation, which as kids seemed like quite the exotic thing to do.  Only a short stretch of the NY State thruway cuts through Seneca Territory.

All in all, an uneventful and good, if a little boring, day for a road trip.
